Antioch Bible Church was founded on November 1, 1992, in the Chicago area under the leadership of Pastor Chun Ho Yang.

Inspired by the spirit and mission of the Antioch Church in the Bible, our church was established with the following purposes:

• To proclaim the Word of God,

• To raise disciples,

• To be a church where the signs and wonders of Jesus are revealed,

• And to become a church filled with the Holy Spirit.

Over the years, countless lives have been transformed through this community. As the Scripture says in 3 John 1:2,

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”

Indeed, the living grace of God continues to work within our church.

Official Statement and Current

Legal Status of Antioch Bible Church

To our beloved congregation and all those who have been faithfully praying with us,

We pray that the grace and peace of our Lord may overflow in your life and home.

This statement has been prepared to clearly convey the facts regarding the recent situation within and around Antioch Bible Church, in order to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings and confusion.

1. Termination of Pastor Jin Kyu Jung

Pastor Jin Kyu Jung was appointed as the senior pastor of Antioch Bible Church on December 13, 2021,

but was officially terminated from his position on February 22, 2024.

The reasons for his dismissal are as follows:

• Repeatedly disregarding church governance and order,

• Refusing to form an official session and instead operating through an unofficial “semi-session,”

• Causing ongoing conflict by ignoring the church constitution,

• Unilaterally dismantling the Pastoral Cooperation Committee on December 31, 2023, without consent or due process,

• Refusing to submit legally required I-9 documentation.

2. Legal Actions Concerning Eviction and Unlawful Conduct

• Following his dismissal, the church requested that Pastor Jung vacate the church parsonage by March 31, 2024.

However, he refused and continued to reside there unlawfully.

• On September 6, 2024, the court issued an eviction order effective through September 30.

He failed to comply and was forcibly evicted on November 22, 2024.

• Despite this, on September 16, 2024, Pastor Jung registered a separate organization under the name “New Antioch Bible Church” and submitted a fraudulent Quit Claim Deed, falsely transferring ownership of the parsonage and church building to himself.

• On January 30, 2025, the court issued a Restraining Order against Pastor Jung.

• As of February 9, 2025, criminal and civil lawsuits concerning the fraudulent deed have been officially filed and are ongoing.

3. “New Antioch Bible Church” Has No Affiliation with Antioch Bible Church

The organization named “New Antioch Bible Church,” established by Pastor Jung,

has no legal, organizational, or spiritual connection with the original Antioch Bible Church.

Antioch Bible Church remains the only legitimate and lawful church with:

• Spiritual legitimacy,

• Historical continuity, and

• Unbroken community integrity.

Legal proceedings concerning Pastor Jung and “New Antioch Bible Church” are currently ongoing.

Any actions or claims made under the name “Antioch Bible Church” by this group are clearly illegal.

Nevertheless, they continue to unlawfully occupy the Antioch Bible Church building and falsely act as though they are its rightful owners.

4. A Message to the Congregation and the Local Community

Antioch Bible Church is committed to restoring the church in accordance with God’s justice and order,

and to preserve the true essence of the church for the sake of our members and the community.

We earnestly ask for your continued prayers and participation in spreading the truth and preventing confusion caused by misinformation.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ always be with you.

Sincerely,
